Four meals away

Discovery Museum, Newcastle upon Tyne, 10-24 February 2016

"Britain is only ever four meals away from anarchy", MI5

We were commissioned to make this work by Tyne & Wear Archives and Museums (TWAM).  The video element was recorded at the Newcastle West End Film Bank during the period Ken Loach was filming I Daniel Blake.

The final work showed a section of a family kitchen containing only the contents of a food parcel designed to last them for three days.  The cupboards were shockingly bare and fridge entirely empty.  A TV on the benchtop played a loop of the film we made about the food bank.

With thanks to the Newcastle West

End Foodbank, BB Trade Kitchens

& Bathrooms and SITA UK.
